Artistic Director of Bowen McCauley Dance since 1996, Lucy Bowen McCauley recently received the James B. Hunter III Community Hero Award for her work in creating outreach programs that bring the joy and beauty of dance to new audiences, including those facing challenges. She created the intensive Kenmore dance residency, which allows students to gain exposure to professional-caliber dance instruction and to showcase their talents onstage. In partnership with the Parkinson Foundation Bowen McCauley Dance provides weekly dance classes for those with Parkinsons Disease and their caregivers. Since its inception, Bowen McCauley has created more than 50 works, ranging from lyrical ballets to highly physical contemporary pieces set to muscular rock.
